Step outside the studio and join the Outdoor Painting Challenge!
Whether you're an experienced artist looking to refine your plein air skills or you've always wanted to try painting outdoors for the first time, this is a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself, learn something new and enjoy a day of creativity in inspiring surroundings with like-minded artists!.
As well as a fun and friendly challenge, you'll be competing for a range of fantastic prizes. Finished paintings will be judged by a panel of high-profile judges, with the overall winner taking home the Arts at St Paul's Outdoor Painting Challenge Trophy, alongside prizes including art supply vouchers and vouchers from Loch Leven's Larder.
The day will conclude with a drinks reception hosted by Loch Leven's Larder, offering the perfect chance to celebrate your achievements, admire everyone's work and enjoy the company of fellow artists. Whether you're coming to compete, improve your skills or simply enjoy a creative day outdoors, this is an event not to be missed.

The small print
1) Participating artists must have their blank painting surface stamped (on reverse) by the organisers before starting to work, and only authentically stamped works may be submitted for judging.
2) All works must be completed on the day, within the official competition hours.
3) Registration is at 10.00, painting time begins at 10.30 and finishes at 15.30 when pieces must be handed in for judging.
4) Painting must be done from life, on location. No previously taken reference photography is permitted (although you may take pictures on the day to capture specific light conditions etc)
5) Young artists under 16 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
6) Artists must provide all their own materials (including folding chair, easel, table etc) and refreshments, water etc.
7) The Entry Fee of £15.00 (early bird, for applications made on or before 15 August) or £20.00 (for applications made on or after 16 August) must be paid to Arts @ St Paul's before the event. On submission of this form, you will be sent banking details or a payment link.
8) The organisers reserve the right to alter the timings, location or Ts & Cs without prior notice.
